Dreams of The Last Butterflies premiered in Brooklyn last weekend to a star studded audience of NYC's most renowned underground movers and shakers to rave reviews (and more than a few teary eyes.) Kai and the rest of the butterfly queens took to the red carpet, and were joined by representatives from Saving Species to give the long awaited environmental faery tale a proper send off as it begins its journey to festivals around the world. The film will be available to view online later this year.
Visit the Dreams of The Last Butterflies website for a full list of festivals, performers, and photographs from the making for the film.

The Dream of 2013:
It is a few hours before midnight 2013. I give thanks for blessings of creativity, love, and connection with tribe and family. So many things happened, that when I write them out here it feels strange. Like a dream, memory is wavy and slippery, so I will recount it here like dreaming…
Winter of last year: I team up with legendary genre bending bass explorers Dave Sharma and Dhruva Ganesan of SubSwara to produce a song for the forthcoming film Dreams of The Last Butterflies. After recording one song, synergy and timing allow us to roll into the process of recording a full length album that is dream come true to create. I post about the incredible process here throughout the year.
Sequoia Emmanuell, who captures the divine in digital. The autumn winds bring the return to Flambeaux Fire’s immersive fire faeire-tale The Calling. Backed by a successful Kickstarter fundraising campaign, we step into a world of fire and song to tell tales from between the worlds. The final event of the season comes in November with the 4th Annual Mermaid Lagoon ocean benefit where we raise over $2,000 for the ocean and orcas in captivity. My heart is filled with hope by what happens when art and compassion meet.
Robert Moss, and learn to bring my experiences from non-ordinary reality to my creations and connections, and carrying back gifts from the otherworld. For the first time in my life I feel truly connected and grounded by practice through awareness, breath, dreaming, movement and song.
The dream memory wavers, and I remember my tribe and loved ones…to all of you who reach out to brush paths with me across the physical and Innerspace of connectivity. Your triumphs of bravery, victory, strength, and devotion to inner spirit, creativity, and love. I thank you for filling me with inspiration, hope, courage, and wonder every day. I am so proud to be a part of this world with you. Thank you for being a part of my everything. May you be blessed in the coming year, and all years after this. May your best dreams come true in 2014.
